The New Doors

There were three new doors after two weeks. They matched the others exactly, same wood, same little frosted glass panels. But the old doors had room numbers. The new ones had names. Not company names. People names, first and last, painted neat in gold like the offices of important men. I did not recognize the first two. The third new door, the one nearest the middle, the one that had appeared just last night, had my name on it.
