Backing and Batting

There is a part of quilting that nobody photographs. The top is the part people love — the pattern, the color, the clever interlocking rings. But a quilt is three layers, and the other two do the quiet work: the batting, the soft hidden middle that makes it warm, and the backing, the plain underside that no one is meant
